At 12:00pm of December 5, 2015, I took
my lunch at Sushi Express which is located at Newark Shopping Center
along Newark Boulevard and Cedar Avenue in Newark, California, USA.
Sushi Express is a brand new Japanese restaurant at Newark Shopping
Center. It is a sushi boat type of restaurant. You have to get a plate
of dish that you want along the line conveyor. You can choose from a
side dish, sashimi, sushi, and even dessert. Green tea and pickled
ginger are free and unlimited. The Japanese soup which is a miso soup is
not free. You have to order it for $1.50 per bowl and it is not
refillable.
The price of each plate is $1.50 no matter what type of dish or dessert that you picked up from the conveyor.

After we visited the Capitol Commons
and the downtown area of Pasig City on October 3, 2015, we went to The
Podium which is located at Ortigas Center in Pasig City, Philippines.
The Podium is also a shopping center located at Ortigas Center, Pasig
City. It is also located at the back of SM Megamall. Since we came
early, we had a tour there. There are many stores, restaurants, and
salons inside The Podium. It is not a very crowded shopping center
compared with the other malls and shopping centers.
At 6:00pm,
we had a dinner at Healthy Shabu Shabu located at the second floor of
the building. It is a Japanese restaurant and you can cook the food at
your table. You can dip the choice of your food in a boiling soup or
stock like Japanese beef, big prawns, fish fillets, tuna slices,
scallops, and assorted vegetables and noodles. You can season them with
sauces and condiments. We ate there with my friends from PSI and OCCI
like Rocel Santiago Borilla, Benjie Leogardo, and Aurora Cobarrubias.
Our other friend, Claude Santa Ana was not able to come for any reason.
We spent our time while cooking, eating, and socializing to each other.
Because of having social networks like Facebook, I was able to find and
communicate with my long time no see friends from PSI and OCCI. We
didn't see each other since 2000 when I came in USA. I made a promise
that I will meet and see them later if I will visit in Philippines
later. Thanks God that my wish came true. I know that it is hard to
invite people because of their hectic schedules.

On September 25, 2015, we had a tour in
Parañaque City, Philippines together with my cousin Rose Ann Zapanta,
and her friends Ronald Castro and Ronald Castro. The two Ronald Castro
are best friends and they are not related to each other.
From
Baliuag, Bulacan, we traveled to Baclaran Area in Parañaque City to have
our lunch at Dampa or Seaside Seafood. Seaside Seafood is located
besides Baclaran Church or Redeptorist Church. Thanks God it's Friday
because the area is not very crowded. The novena of Baclaran Church is
scheduled anytime on Wednesdays and the area is so crowded during the
novena. Also, the sidewalk vendors of Baclaran Church make the area
crowded.
Anyway, the Seaside Seafood sells all kinds of seafood
at anytime. It is also one of the tourists spot in Philippines
especially to foreign visitors. It is established in 1974. Until now,
Seaside Seafood is still in the business and it is already featured in
magazines and tv shows.
We bought two crabs and one kilo of
fresh squid. The price of two crabs is PHP 580 and the price of one kilo
of squid is PHP 320. Not bad for 4 people. After this, we went to 2nd
floor to ask to cook our seafood. They cooked the crabs in chili garlic
sauce while the squid into fried calamari and sizzling spicy. The total
cost for cooking the seafood including rice and soft drinks is PHP
1,080. Not bad also for 4 people. This is cheaper compared with Chinese
Restaurant and Seafood Restaurant. Everyone was so full because we ate
many rice. If you eat seafood especially with the spicy sauce, then you
will eat many rice also.
After this, we walk along Baclaran
Church to have a short tour there. The Seaside Seafood is located along
Roxas Boulevard corner Redemptorist Road in Parañaque City. You really
need to find a better parking spot because the area is crowded
especially during lunch time and dinner time.

I went to Boomtown Hotel and Casino on September 6, 2015 to have a
lobster buffet there. Boomtown Hotel and Casino is now a popular
restaurant for serving lobster buffet. The lobster buffet is available
every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 2:00pm to 9:00pm.
I drove from Vacaville, California to Verdi, Nevada thru I-80 East. Thanks God that there's no traffic.
They have a promotion right now. They have also lobster buffet on Labor Day (Monday). The price per person is $34.95 including drinks.

Thanks God that I was able to have a lobster buffet. I was so
disappointed at Jackson Rancheria Hotel and Casino because all coupons
and stubs are sold out. Unlike at Boomtown Hotel and Casino, no need for
the coupons and stubs.
I ate five lobsters in the buffet but it
is worth full. Imagine at any supermarket, the price of fresh lobster
is $14 per pound and it depends with the market price and season.
If you will eat lobsters and Alaskan crab legs, try to put squeezed
lemon in order to neutralize the fishy taste. Also, they are best to eat
with melted butter preferably with garlic.
If you will plan to visit at Boomtown Hotel and Casino, try to arrive early as much as you can because the line is also long.

I went to Jackson Rancheria Casino on
September 5, 2015 to have a lobster buffet there. Jackson Rancheria is
also a busy casino like Cache Creek. They have hotels aside from casino
and restaurants.
Unfortunately, I was not able to have a lobster buffet because the coupons or stubs are already sold out or gone.
Their "Fisherman's Wharf" Buffet is open only on Friday and Saturday
from 3:00pm to 11:00pm. I left from Newark, California at 3:00pm and
because of heavy traffic at I-580 East, I arrived at 8:00pm. A lot of
people inside the restaurant because of the three day weekend. It's
Labor Day on Monday.
I talked to the restaurant manager and she
apologized to everyone because many people are not able to make it for
the lobster buffet. She told us to come early like 2 to 3 hours earlier
in order to get the coupon or stub. This is first come first serve
restaurant and everyone should arrive early. Well, I learned from
experience and I know next time what will I do.
The good thing
is that I came by myself or else my other family members or friends will
be upset. My coworker at Morton Salt mentioned this buffet restaurant
to me because he likes to eat seafood and lobsters.
Well, folks arrive early by 2 to 3 hours before 3:00pm on Friday or Saturday in order to get a coupon or stub.
By the way, the price per person is $29.95. This is good price also. It

On August 1, 2015, we went to Cache Creek Hotel and Casino in Brooks, California, USA with my mother together with her friends and former coworkers at Portal Publishing, Inc.
They had their mini-reunion at my house in Vacaville, California at noon till afternoon. My mother cooked Filipino dishes like Kare-Kare with Bagoong, Mechado, Leche Flan, Halo-Halo, Biko, and Cassava Cake. After their mini-reunion, we went to Vacaville Premium Outlet to buy their things that they need at home for wholesale or factory price.
After, their shopping at Vacaville Premium Outlets, we went all together to Cache Creek Hotel and Casino. We had a dinner there before we begin with playing of slot machines, roulette, and cards. We spend our night there till 3:00 am.
